Sidney L. Gold and Traci M. Greenberg of The Gold Law Firm P.C. are representing a victim of age discrimination and wrongful termination. The former employee of Roxborough Memorial Hospital alleged that he was fired due to his age in a complaint filed with the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania on April 20. He claimed that the employer fired him when he was 79 years old, and then replaced him with a much younger worker. Court documents state that his employer violated the Age Discrimination in Employment Act and the Pennsylvania Human Relations Act.
Many individuals continue to work into their 60s and 70s for many reasons, whether for financial or creative purposes. When employers decide to eliminate workers due to their age, it is illegal and an insult to productive members of the workforce. Although a good percentage of age discrimination cases affect more older employees, it does not mean that it cannot happen to younger individuals, too.
