Reductions in Force
Sidney L. Gold & Associates advise all employees that have been terminated from their jobs due to a reduction in force (RIF) to consult with an experienced and reliable employment lawyer. The federal Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act (WARN Act) requires an employer to give at least 60 days notice to employees that will be affected by a reduction in force. Failure to comply with this law entitles eligible employees to collect compensation for the period of time that they should have been on notice.
