A complaint was filed on April 14, 2016 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, alleging Marriott International, doing business as Philadelphia Airport Marriott Hotel, terminated a 65-year-old man based on his age. Philadelphia employment lawyers of Sidney L. Gold & Associates are representing the plaintiff in the age discrimination case.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff began receiving poor performance reports in 2010 from a new supervisor. The plaintiff reports his work was satisfactory throughout his employment. The plaintiff received warnings from the director of hotel operations regarding his “poor work” in 2012, then was suspended due to alleged good preparation violations. After these incidents, the plaintiff was terminated, with the employer citing poor job performance as the reason for his termination.
In the lawsuit, the plaintiff alleges he was targeted repeatedly while younger employees did not receive the same disciplinary warnings. Due to this, the plaintiff feels Marriott International is responsible for his alleged wrongful termination. Additionally, the defendant claims that he was suspended for a violation despite not being at work at the time of the professed violation. Following his termination, the plaintiff was replaced with a younger, much less experienced employee.
The plaintiff has requested a trial by jury. Sidney L. Gold and his team of Philadelphia employment lawyers at The Gold Law Firm P.C., will represent the plaintiff and seek compensation for lost wages, benefits, emoluments of lost employment, award of front pay, punitive damages, pre-and-post-judgement interest, costs of suit and attorney and expert witness fees, and other financial relief.
