A wrongful termination lawsuit in Pennsylvania alleging national origin and race discrimination has been filed against Extendicare Health Services Inc., doing business as Stonebridge Health and Rehabilitation Center. The plaintiff in the lawsuit claims that she was subject to a hostile work environment, falsely accused of unfounded infractions and her employment was wrongfully terminated.
The plaintiff was hired as a certified nursing assistant in January 2013. She was the only Hispanic employee. The lawsuit alleges that the worker was accused of abusing residents at the facility, suspended and then reinstated when it was found that the allegations were unfounded. From May 3013 to May 2014, she asserts that she was repeatedly accused of inappropriate actions that were unsubstantiated and her picture was defaced after she was chosen as Employee of the Month. The employee was fired in July 2014. She is seeking compensation for lost wages, benefits, loss of enjoyment of life, discrimination, retaliation and legal fees.
