Former CBS chief Les Moonves lost his $120 million severance package after the completion of a sexual misconduct probe into multiple accusations against him. The board of directors ordered the investigation after CBS ousted Moonves from the network back in September. CBS stated that the probe showed a violation of company policies, breach of his employment contract, and failure to comply with the investigation to the fullest extent as well as acts of misfeasance.
Sexual harassment and misconduct allegations continue to take down high-profile and powerful leaders in a variety of industries. A pattern of abuse in any type of workplace may make for a hostile work environment for every employee including victims of the toxic behavior. Until many of these stories became public after the flurry of allegations against Harvey Weinstein over a year ago, most victims feared speaking out due to repercussions that may affect their careers and their personal lives.
