On Wednesday, former Miami Dolphins head coach Brian Flores filed suit against three National Football League (NFL) teams, the Dolphins, the Giants, and the Broncos, as well as the NFL itself. Flores alleges that racial discrimination occurs in the three teams and throughout the league. He also alleges a sham interview process for minority job applicants.
The announcement of Flores’ suit made headlines everywhere. Speculation is that Flores, who was fired as head coach for the Miami Dolphins after three years this past January, might not work as an NFL coach while the class-action suit is underway. In response to these comments, Flores announced yesterday that he does intend to continue coaching. He is currently interviewing with the New Orleans Saints and the Houston Texans. Filing a class-action suit means that Flores is inviting other coaches and general managers to join him.
