An application could help reduce discrimination in the hiring process. The app, called Blendoor, omits the names and photos of applicants when an employer uploads resumes. It was designed by Stephanie Lampkin, a black female engineer who has experienced discrimination firsthand in her career. Lampkin says her app prevents race or sex from influencing hiring decisions, and enables employers to easily select the most qualified for a job without discrimination. Nineteen large technology companies are already using the Blendoor app.
